Blue Light Victoria is a not for profit organisation with statewide coverage. Established in 1976, Blue Light Victoria in partnership with Victoria Police has been providing programs and initiatives for young people between the ages of 10-21 years focusing on empowerment and engagement. In any given year approximately 20,000 young people would participate in a Blue Light Victoria program.

D-A-S-H (Dynamic, Active, Safe, Healthy)

DASH! is an 8-week program for Years 5 and 6, in which students develop and practise critical competencies through a range of modalities and experiences. The program encourages awareness of local community and builds relationships with community experts.
DASH! is facilitated in the classroom by Blue Light Victoria and supported by Victoria Police. Blue Light’s long-term relationship with the police provides a unique opportunity for students to engage beyond the school and to interact directly with their community.

Blue EDGE (Educate, Develop, Grow, Empower)

Blue EDGE (Educate, Develop, Grow, Empower) is a holistic Secondary School program run by Blue Light in partnership with Victoria Police combining physical training, mentoring and life skills.

Delivered twice weekly, Blue EDGE includes three key components:

  1. 45 minutes of physical training fitness circuits and team building activities
  2. a shared meal
  3. workshop discussion or presentation by guest speaker

The program covers a range of topics which are tailored to address current issues and interests identified by the participant group and site-delivery team. Sessions can include wellbeing topics, personal development life skills and leadership.
