Bendigo Blue Light
Bendigo Blue Light was established in 2016 and is led by dedicated group of volunteers including Victoria Police members and experts from the education and youth sectors.
Bendigo Blue Light delivers a range of programs and events designed to engage young people that are supervised by Victoria Police members. Programs include 1:1 Mentoring, and activities such as a skate park family event.
1:1 Mentoring
Our one-to-one mentoring is a fitness-based program for at-risk young people aged 10 to 17 years. It provides young people with a fitness instructor and six individual gym sessions over three weeks alongside a community mentor. Once the initial three-week program has been completed young people are provided weekly access to gym sessions on a “drop-in” basis.
Our one-to-one mentoring provides an opportunity to connect with a community mentor alongside a fitness instructor to provide a safe, collaborative, and empowering experience.
Skate days
On the day young people of all abilities can access professional skateboard lessons provided by our skate partner Gnarly Neighbours.
Our annual Eaglehawk skate day is a key event for Bendigo Blue Light. It gives young people, their families and community the opportunity to gather for a fun day out.
Bendigo Blue Light community partners include Rotary, Headspace and Anglicare’s KIT Van creating further awareness of support available to families in the Bendigo region.
A barbeque and DJ are provided ensuring a family friendly environment for everyone. The skate day is a free event.
