Bendigo Blue Light

Bendigo Blue Light was established in 2016 and is led by dedicated group of volunteers including Victoria Police members and experts from the education and youth sectors.

Bendigo Blue Light delivers a range of programs and events designed to engage young people that are supervised by Victoria Police members. Events include one-to-one mentoring program, skate park family event and our social enterprise the Bendigo Blue Light Coffee Van which is available for private functions.

One-to-one
mentoring

Our one-to-one mentoring is a fitness-based program for at-risk young people aged 10 to 17 years. It provides young people with a fitness instructor and six individual gym sessions over three weeks alongside a community mentor. Once the initial three-week program has been completed young people are provided weekly access to gym sessions on a โ€œdrop-inโ€ basis.
Our one-to-one mentoring provides an opportunity to connect with a community mentor alongside a fitness instructor to provide a safe, collaborative, and empowering experience.

Skate days

Our annual Eaglehawk skate day is a key event for Bendigo Blue Light. It gives young people, their families and community the opportunity to gather for a fun day out.
On the day young people of all abilities can access professional skateboard lessons provided by our skate partner Gnarly Neighbours.
A barbecue and DJ are provided ensuring a family friendly environment for everyone. The skate day is a free event.
Bendigo Blue Light community partners include Rotary, Headspace and Anglicareโ€™s KIT Van creating further awareness of support available to families in the Bendigo region.

Mobile coffee van

Our mobile coffee van generates income for Bendigo Blue Light helping to fund local programs and events.
It also offers training opportunities and work experience for young people and is supported by a qualified barista.

The mobile coffee van regularly supports events across Bendigo including the Golden Square Football Club. We actively seek referrals and bookings for events and market days.
Please consider supporting Bendigo Blue Light by booking our coffee van for your next event or market day. Booking enquiries can be made at the link below.
Our branches are located across Victoria and rely on the support of volunteers to help stage their events and activities.
Quite simply we couldnโ€™t do what we do without volunteer support.
Our branches have a range of volunteer opportunities supporting events and activities which create and promote positive experiences for young people.  Should you decide to volunteer for the Bendigo branch it will be mandatory for Blue Light Victoria to carefully screen volunteer applications to ensure we adhere to Victorian Government Child Safety policy.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWC)
  • National Police Check
  • Will need to sign an agreement acknowledging that you understand our “Code of Conduct” for Working with Children
  • Have read and understood the Blue Light Child Safety Policy
