Our Patron

As Patron of Blue Light Victoria, I commend the team and the many volunteers’ continued commitment to the growth and delivery of early intervention and prevention programs for young people aged 10 – 21 years old across the State.

In line with Blue Light Victoria’s mission, these programs enhance connection between young people, their peers and their community and equip them with tools to support their wellbeing.

Blue Light Victoria run over 380 sessions each year, primarily through its two school-based programs – Blue EDGE (Educate, Develop, Grow and Empower) and DASH (Dynamic, Active, Safe, Healthy), benefitting over 12,000 young people across Victoria.

Both of these programs are evidence-based and designed to build resilience and wellbeing through activity-based learning.

The growth in Blue Light Victoria’s programs and reach across Victoria shows only a fraction of the impact that Blue Light Victoria make on the lives of young people and their local communities.

Victoria Police has seen firsthand the benefits of Blue Light Victoria programs and remains a proud partner.  Over the last 12 months alone over 380 police officers have contributed to their programs and events across Victoria.

Blue Light Discos – an Australian icon since 1976 and an inherent part of youth culture developing positive police-youth relationships, are still running across Victoria to this day and remain a valued legacy.

I have immense pride in the work of Blue Light Victoria in support of young people who are at risk of disengaging from school, their communities or family networks.
