Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal funds DASH in East Gippsland

We would like to acknowledge funding support from the FRRR’s Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Prepare and Recover program for funding DASH programs in East Gippsland.

The program supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters in the medium to long-term timeframe.

Blue Light Victoria will deliver DASH programs in Tambo Upper and Swans Reach. DASH is 9-week, whole classroom program for students in Years 5 & 6 that develops studentsโ€™ community connections and provides young people with a voice and agency to influence change in their local communities.

We utilise our partnerships with police and emergency services to access members to participate in the DASH sessions as community role models. This builds trust, awareness, empathy and connection to community. The program has already commenced in Tambo Upper and will continue with Swan Reach in Term 4, 2024.

Blue Light Victoria would like to take this opportunity to thank FRRR for their funding support.
